XGPON Transceivers

XGPON could also be called 10G GPON. The bandwidth of XGPON is asymmetric between uplink and downlink, with 2.5Gbps for uplink and 10Gbps for downlink, the spectral ratio is 1:128. With the same spectral ratio, the maximum transmission distance of XGPON can reach 40KM. XGPON wavelength planning and GPON wavelength planning do not overlap, so GPON and XGPON could share ODN networks through wavelength division multiplexing; At present, the mainstream PON technologies used in FTTH (fiber to the home) are EPON technology and GPON technology. XGPON technology is mainly used in FTTB (fiber to the corridor) scenarios due to the high cost of XGPON ONU.
